Smooth Away Wrinkles

Juvéderm® Ultra XC is a specific type of Juvéderm® filler that is formulated with a small amount of lidocaine, a local anesthetic, to make the injection process more comfortable for the patient. It is typically used to treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the nasolabial folds (the lines that run from the nose to the corners of the mouth).

Procedure

The length of the Juvéderm® Ultra XC procedure typically depends on the area being treated and the individual's specific needs. However, in general, the injection process can usually be completed within 15 to 30 minutes.

Recovery

Recovery time after a Juvéderm Ultra XC treatment is usually minimal, and most people are able to resume normal activities right away. However, you may experience some mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection sites.

Results

The results of the injections are typically visible immediately after the treatment. The filler works by adding volume to the skin, which can help smooth out wrinkles, lines, and folds, resulting in a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

Who Qualifies for Juvéderm® Ultra XC?

The procedure may not be suitable for everyone, and it is important to consult with a licensed healthcare provider to determine if it is the right treatment for you. Individuals who have a history of severe allergies, particularly to lidocaine or hyaluronic acid, or have a bleeding disorder may not be good candidates for this treatment. Additionally, pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid using the treatment. People with active infections, skin irritations, or inflammation in the area where the injection will be administered should also avoid using Juvéderm® Ultra XC until the condition has resolved.

What to Expect?

Prior to receiving the treatment, there are a few things you should expect. Firstly, you will have a consultation with a licensed healthcare provider to discuss your goals, medical history, and any potential risks or side effects. Your provider may advise you to avoid certain medications, supplements, alcohol, and smoking prior to the treatment.

During the treatment, the healthcare provider will inject small amounts of Juvéderm® Ultra XC gel into the treatment area using a fine needle. Depending on the provider’s preference, a topical numbing cream may be applied to the treatment area prior to the injection to minimize discomfort.
