What is Neck Lift?
Neck lift is a cosmetic surgical procedure that is designed to improve the appearance of the neck by removing excess skin, tightening the underlying muscles, and improving the contour of the jawline. The procedure is often performed in conjunction with a facelift, as the two procedures can work together to create a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
During the procedure, an incision is typically made underneath the chin, and the surgeon will then tighten the muscles and remove any excess skin or fat. The incision may also be made behind the ears to further enhance the contour of the neck and jawline.
Procedure
Generally, a neck lift can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours to complete. However, the actual time may be longer or shorter depending on the individual circumstances of the patient.
Recovery
Most patients can return to work and light activities within 1 to 2 weeks after the procedure, but more strenuous activities, such as exercise or heavy lifting, should be avoided for several weeks.
Anesthesia
A neck lift procedure is typically performed under general anesthesia, which means that the patient will be completely asleep and won't feel any pain or discomfort during the surgery.

Who Qualifies for Neck Lift?
A neck lift is an ideal procedure for healthy individuals, aged 40 and above, who are concerned about the visible signs of aging in the neck area such as sagging skin, wrinkles, or a double chin. Good candidates for a neck lift are those who are in good overall physical and mental health, non-smokers, and have realistic expectations about the results that can be achieved.
Patients should be willing and able to follow the surgeon’s instructions for recovery and attend all follow-up appointments to ensure proper post-operative care. It’s important to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate the individual’s goals, concerns, and medical history to determine whether they are a good candidate for the procedure.
