What is Body Contouring?
Body contouring procedure is a surgical procedure designed to improve the shape and appearance of the body by removing excess fat and skin, and tightening the underlying muscles. These procedures are commonly used to enhance the appearance of areas of the body that have lost their tone and shape.
Body contouring is most frequently used to help achieve a more hourglass figure by narrowing the waist and augmenting curves. However, Dr. Rogers will work with you to determine the best custom strategy for accomplishing your unique body shape goals.
Procedure
Procedures, such as liposuction or a mini tummy tuck, may only take a few hours to complete, while more extensive procedures like full body lift, can take several hours or even multiple surgeries to complete.
Recovery
Recovery time after body contouring surgery can range from a few days to several weeks or even months. During this time, patients may experience swelling, bruising, discomfort, and limited mobility.
Anesthesia
Most body contouring procedures are performed under general anesthesia, which means the patient is completely asleep and does not feel any pain or discomfort during the procedure.

Who Qualifies for Body Contouring Procedure?
Candidates for transgender body contouring procedures should be in good overall health and free from any medical conditions that could increase the risk of complications during surgery. They should have realistic expectations for the outcome of the procedure and understand that the results may take time to fully develop. Candidates should have a stable gender identity and have undergone gender reassignment surgery prior to undergoing the procedures. Additionally, candidates should be mentally and emotionally prepared for the surgery and understand the physical and emotional changes that may occur as a result of the procedure. It’s important to discuss individual qualifications and expectations with a qualified plastic surgeon who has experience in performing transgender body contouring procedures. The surgeon can evaluate the specific needs and goals of the candidate and help determine if they are a good candidate for the procedure.
