Worked in the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center under the mentorship of Dr. Babak Mehrara, principal investigator and Chief of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. Performed basic science research on lymphatic biology, lymphatic tissue engineering, obesity, and microsurgical procedures, including lymph node transfer and lymphaticovenous bypass.

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Summer Research Fellowship, New York, NY

June 2011-August 2011

1 of 60 students selected from an applicant pool of 600 medical students across the country. Worked in the Cytogenetics Laboratory in the Department of Pathology at MSKCC under the mentorship of Drs. Suresh Jhanwar and Xiaoliang Xu to conduct an individual research project to determine the effects of two retinoid X receptor gamma (RXRG) ligands on proliferation regulation in colon cancer.
