What is Eyelid Lift?
An eyelid lift, also known as blepharoplasty, is a cosmetic surgery procedure that involves removing excess skin, fat, and muscle from the upper or lower eyelids to create a more youthful, alert, and refreshed appearance.
As we age, the skin around our eyes can become loose and saggy, resulting in drooping upper eyelids, under-eye bags, and wrinkles. An eyelid lift can address these issues and improve the overall appearance of the eyes, making them look brighter, more open, and less tired. During the procedure, the surgeon makes small incisions in the natural creases of the eyelids to remove excess tissue and tighten the remaining skin.
Procedure
The length of an eyelid lift procedure, also known as blepharoplasty, can vary depending on the extent of the surgery and whether it is being performed on the upper or lower eyelids. In general, the procedure typically takes around 1 to 3 hours to complete.
Recovery
The recovery period after an eyelid lift, or blepharoplasty, varies depending on the individual and the extent of the surgery. However, in general, most patients can expect to resume normal activities within 1 to 2 weeks after the procedure.
Anesthesia
The type of anesthesia used during an eyelid lift, or blepharoplasty, can vary depending on the individual patient and the extent of the surgery. In general, the procedure can be performed using local anesthesia with sedation, or general anesthesia.

Who Qualifies for Eyelid Lift?
Candidates for eyelid lift surgery should have excess skin or fat on their upper and/or lower eyelids that is causing a tired, aged, or puffy appearance. They should also be in good overall health, have no underlying medical conditions that could increase the risks associated with the surgery, and have realistic expectations about the outcome of the surgery. Candidates should not have any active eye conditions or infections, and they should be non-smokers or willing to quit smoking for a period of time before and after the surgery. Additionally, candidates should be in good mental health and have a positive outlook on the surgery and recovery process. It’s important to note that the final determination of whether someone qualifies for eyelid lift surgery will depend on a thorough evaluation by a qualified surgeon.
